Anybody Flyfish Blues or Stripers? How heavy a rod and leader? Looking to expand my fishing to these two "coastal" fishes.

Hey, some of us have to work!
 
I use a 7-8 wt, rocket taper (to get those clausers out), and an 8lb leader. A lot of guys will use a 9wt or heavier but I like to play them some. Never tried it for blues but then, you can catch them on a broom handle with a hook in it! Not usually my cup of tea..... other than trying to get my foot in the door over in Wiscasset. Still looking to buy some or do a trade? I'll meet you half way...... you buy the hooks and dumbell eyes and Flashabou or bucktail..or whatever you want in 'em. basically you supply the materials and I'll tye what you want..... how you want. NO charge.....just buy double the materials needed to do yours. I'll make out on my half. Email me over at: aroostookbasser@yahoo.com
Sound fair....... hit your local supplier or go online. If you want three dozen or four..... just get enough materials to double your order..... might want to include a picture or two to go by. Clousers are easy to tie..love 'em on bass.....yellow and white bucktail/flashabou....killer on Mattawamkeag. I'll even through in some seaducers the stripers in Penobscot bay use to tear up on me. But you gotta send me pics for my blog with the fly in his lip. I'll even give you a plug on the Blog...... you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. Word of advice .........never go striper fishing with a bass rod. Destroyed my old Cortland 333 in short order. Thinking about sea water fishing this summer....wife loves the beach....I love to fsh.
